Constellations on Earth Praxis Inauguration video

This is a solo show at the Praxis gallery in Buenos Aires, featuring two series (one of photographs and the other of drawings) copied onto brushed aluminum sheet (Alucobond), a series of cyanotypes, two algraphic sheets, a lithographic stone, and a facsimile of the Huaca Huichaira* notebook. All the pieces in this solo exhibition reproduce parts of the process of the land art intervention titled Huaca Huichaira*, which took place at the Museo en los Cerros (MEC) in 2024.

HUACA HUICHAIRA

When Lucio Boschi invited me to think about a project for his Museo en los Cerros, in Huichaira, Jujuy, Argentina we began to discuss many of the sensations I took away from that trip, but above all I was fascinated by the sky. There is something very sacred in that contact with the cosmos. The word that the Quechuas use to describe the sacred is Huaca.

For more than 20 years, projects have been taking shape in notebooks. In the case of Huaca Huichaira, for the first time, an exclusive project notebook has been produced and then reproduced in a deluxe facsimile edition.

Wilka Mayu, a lithographic stone depicting the Milky Way and its dark constellations, is one of the centerpieces of the exhibition "Constellations on Earth" about the Huaca Huichaira intervention.
